Korea (CLK) was established on December 23, 1985 as a joint venture company between Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), of the United States and Daewoo Corporation of Korea. Since 1991, United Technologies Corporation has held majority ownership of the joint venture. In May 2000, Carrier purchased the remaining minority shares from Daewoo Corporation to take 100% ownership of the company.
